Suffering With Tendinitis?

I had been seeing Dr. Alff for maintenance care on my back when I began suffering with tendinitis in my left elbow.

I went to see my medical doctor and he told me to take an over-the-counter pain reliever, which was ineffective.

I decided to see if Dr. Alff could help me with the pain in my elbow. He began some treatments of adjustments to my left elbow and wrist as they were out of alignment. In addition he gave me some cold laser therapy treatments on my elbow.

The combination of both of these treatments helped to relive the tendinitis pain and promote healing.

The Benefits Of Regular Chiropractic Care

I suffered from lower lumbar pain and numbness in my right foot and was recently diagnosed with a disc herniation between my 4th and 5th lumbar. I continued to work until the pain became so unbearable that I was not longer able to perform my job safely (I am a Paramedic and my back pain prevented me from being able to lift my patients into the ambulance).

I had back surgery 22 years ago for a herniated disc, but the pain from that area of my back seemed to constantly come and go. I would visit a chiropractor once a year and take Ibuprofen for the pain, but the cycle of pain would always seem to come and go.

Since becoming a patient of Dr. Alff’s, I no longer have back discomfort or soreness. I have also noticed a great improvement in my overall health (mind and spirit).

This has been the first time I’ve ever really stuck with any kind of treatment or therapy and I now see what a wonderful benefit it is to continue with regular visits. I feel better than I have in years!!!

It Has Only Been 5 Weeks And I'm Already Back To 90%

Back in 2007 my health suddenly took a downturn, which resulted in numerous trips to the E.R. and countless doctors visits. It all happened because of long-term stress related illnesses.

I had 9 doctors and specialists looking at me at one time. Unfortunately, it felt as though they just couldn’t piece it together. I felt hopeless. I felt as though I were deteriorating.

I found a group of doctors in Torrance with a more holistic approach and they treated me for fibromyalgia, severe chronic fatigue, anxiety, stomach problems, low adrenal, immune disorder, and hormonal imbalance. Thanks to their help, I was able to get back to work, but for the last 6 months prior to seeing Dr. Alff, on a scale of 0-100%, I was still at 60%.

With the 9 doctors I was seeing, I had been prescribed at least 6 antidepressant/anxiety drugs, 4 asthma medications, 3 stomach pills, caduet for tiny arteries, warfarin injections and tons of supplements. I had lung function tests, heart scans and stress tests, CT scans, ultrasound, upper G.I., endoscopy, bone scans, angiogram, neurology tests and hundreds of X-rays and blood work. I was also under the care of a psychologist, physical therapist and acupuncturist.

My body just wouldn’t respond to any treatment and it wasn’t able to handle the medications. Basically, I wasn’t getting any better! It was so bad that I had to take almost all 2007 off of work.

I told myself I’d be happy if I could get my health levels up to 75%, but it has only been 5 weeks since I began seeing Dr. Alff and it already feels like I’m 90% better. Amazing!

The staff at the Ventura Spinal Care Center are the most professional, caring and wonderful people you can ask for. And that includes Dr. Alff!

Not only do I have increased energy level for exercise and my favorite chores, but most importantly, I have a better mental clarity, better circulation, and endurance throughout the day.

No Longer Using My Cane!

Prior to my Chiropractic treatment with Dr. Alff, my leg was a mess! I was walking with a cane, not sleeping, and had pretty much given up of my knee ever functioning like it should again.

I was taking a number of drugs to try and help with the pain, but it simply wasn’t enough.

Now that I’ve completed my treatment, I am no longer using my cane. Not only that, but I can now turn my head better and I have more mobility as a whole.

In the end, I’m glad that I had my treatment. Ibuprofen and other drugs don’t do anything but cover up the pain for short amounts of time. Chiropractic care actually helps to heal what is causing the pain in your body.

Unlimited Energy In Just A Few Short Months

I am so very grateful for a pain free life. I had been to Dr. Alff over 10 years ago, left, and came back this year with unbearable pain. I had total relief after the adjustment.

A few short months later, my “Power” is on and I have unlimited energy. No pain in my lower back and I am doing kickboxing, sit-ups, push-ups and working on my core strengths.

I would not have had the energy and strength to even try, unless I made the choice to see a wonderful Doctor that helped me years ago. And I would recommend N.E.T. (neuro-emotional technique), which Dr. Alff offers; this was an opportunity to let my own body heal itself.

It’s Like A Miracle. I Never Thought Chiropractic Care Would Help Me This Much

One day I was flipping through the newspaper and saw Dr. Alff’s advertisement, which stated “No More Pain No More Pills. I thought about my brother because he has many health problems. I called the toll free phone number on the ad, and Dr. Alff sent me a report, which had valuable information and also included a coupon for a free consultation.

I made an appointment and talked to Dr. Alff. He explained everything to me in detail. I have been having back problems for many years. I had inflammation in my back all the time and it was very painful. I took over the counter medication for the pain but there was no change. The pain would extend to my knees and legs. But I didn’t think chiropractic care was for me. After speaking with Dr. Alff and after he explained everything to me I thought maybe I should take the free exam and see if he could help me.

Dr. Alff examined me and took x-rays. Dr. Alff explained the treatment he would do for my condition. I did not have insurance, so I did not know what to do. For me it was going to be costly. But I thought that if I did not try the treatment I would not know if chiropractic care would work or not.

My husband and I decided, “okay-go for it.” Today, after following Dr. Alff’s recommendation and program, I am feeling very good and can do things I could not do before I began chiropractic care. I feel a big difference in my health! The pain in my back, knees and legs are much improved and even my stomach acid problem is better! I am very happy that I went through the treatments. It’s like a miracle. I never thought chiropractic care would help me this much. I am going to maintain my health now with chiropractic adjustments.

I Now Am Able To Do All The Things I Like To Do

There is life without pain. In March of 2003 I was in such bad shape I knew I had to see someone. I was referred to Dr. Alff. I could hardly do anything. I was having pain in the low back and neck. I also was having numbing on my right side of my chest and middle of my back.

I had put these aches and pain aside for 2 years. Just getting out of bed was a painful thing. Dr. Alff saw me and started to work on not just my body my mind set too. I worked his program and started to enjoy life. I now am able to do all the things I like to do. It’s wonderful.

Life is peachy. I had a little of a relapse, but it turned out to be okay. My back wanted to go back to the old way it was used to, but Dr. Alff fixed everything. I believe in Chiropractic. Dr. Alff has helped me so much.

Gentle Caring Chiropractic

My health problems began in 1987 after being ejected from a horse. I experienced neck and lower back problems. Then in 1988 I was involved in a rear end collision, which re-injured my neck and back again. Even though I had bad injuries, which cause great pain, I still had to work with no time off, which kept the injuries recurring.

I did go to a chiropractor for care. I was disappointed with the care after the accident. No one heard me when I told them I was in an accident until my doctor asked why I had come in three times in one week. Eventually I saw the chiropractor for maintenance every 3 months or when I knocked myself out of alignment. My treatments included therapy.

My former sister in law recommended Dr. Alff to me. I hesitated because changing chiropractors made me a little nervous; you get use to the same things – habits.

I am glad I made the decision to see Dr. Alff. He has provided more than 100% care for me. From the very first visit his concern for my total well-being has impressed me very much. His gentle, caring concern for my healing and well-being are his priority and that says a lot to me.

I Didn’t Understand How Chiropractic Worked

Several months ago I began experiencing pain in my left shoulder, and neck, and headaches upon waking in the morning. These symptoms got worse and in addition fatigue and lethargy set in. I began taking pain relievers but realized they would only be a temporary “fix”.

I thought about chiropractic because I felt the traditional medical route wouldn’t be productive. However, over the years I had been skeptical of chiropractic wondering if the patient could become “dependent”. I really didn’t understand how it worked and was somewhat apprehensive about getting my bones “cracked”.

After hearing of my symptoms, a friend recommended Dr. Alff, saying she’d experienced excellent results and that he used the “Activator” for adjustments. So, with an open but “questioning” mind I showed up for an initial exam – i.e., I’d give this a shot. I certainly didn’t want to take pills and/or have surgery.

Before the exam, Dr. Alff gave a thorough explanation of the terms and procedures, showing me pictures and models, including the Activator. After the x-ray and exam, he reviewed the results thoroughly. I began to understand the connection between misalignments and some disc deterioration in my spine and all the symptoms I was having. I was somewhat skeptical of the Activator but I really didn’t like manual adjustments.

So, I began an intensive corrective program – getting adjustments 3 times a week and using the Vivatek Table. That was 3 months ago. Today, I feel more energy and my fatigue, pain, and listlessness are gone and no more pounding headaches in the morning! I plan to continue with a regular maintenance program. I’m glad I took the “risk”. It’s been a great investment! I can move my head more easily from side to side.

More Enegery And Vitality

I have always been in generally good health. My only complaint was my “ouchy” neck. I would find myself constantly rubbing it in a vain effort to ease the pain. I had tried other Chiropractors before and even massage, but the pain always seemed to return. Then a friend of mind told me about Dr. Alff. I decided to give him a call and see if he could help me with my pain in the neck.

Since I started seeing Dr. Alff I have had consistent relief from my sore neck. In addition, I have more energy/vitality and an all over feeling of well being! I am now on a maintenance program and come in to see Dr. Alff at least once a week. I am a State Fire Marshal and have to commute to Los Angeles and I wouldn’t think of not “fitting in” time to get my adjustments.

Back Problems For Most Of Your Life?

I’ve had a history of back problems most of my adult life, stemming from an active lifestyle, competitive athletics, and the daily grind of work. Whenever I experienced an episode of “throwing out my back”, it consisted of bed rest typically for a day. It grew to two days, then three. The pain was so intense that I literally had to roll out of bed onto the floor and crawl on my hands and knees to the bathroom!

I’ll admit I’ve never been fond of medical doctors. They were cold, never really listened to my concerns, and only “practiced” with numerous medications to “cover up” my symptoms. Unfortunately, I felt even more uncomfortable with chiropractors! Out of desperation, I went to a chiropractor that was from the school of manual manipulation. I found that the relief was usually just temporary, and that I was always tense. I didn’t like the sound of my bones cracking, and came to the belief that this can’t be good for me! So, I suffered. And I mean suffered! Every day was a challenge, from getting out of bed, dressing, and trying to function at work.

And then I met Dr. Alff…

I had hobbled myself to a Home and Garden show at the fairgrounds, (trying to lead a normal life) hunched over and with tears in my eyes. It was there that I met Dr. Alff. He explained to me what “subluxations” were, taking time to educate me on the function of our nervous system, the “Activator Method” of correction, and he even performed a computer diagnostic test on my back!

Now, I’ll admit I was quite skeptical at first. How in the world would this “activator”, that you can barely feel, that doesn’t make you tense up, really do any good?

Well, let me tell you. IT WORKS! Not only did I complete his detailed diagnostic plan to wellness, but I’ve continued on with a maintenance program to maximize my optimum health! I have no more pain. I’m able to participate in activities that I did twenty years ago, and I’m feeling healthier every day. Dr. Alff listened. He encouraged me to allow my body to heal itself, free of subluxations.

Dr. Alff and his staff are caring and loving professionals, who I know, truly care about my well-being and who want to see me enjoy, to the fullest, the life that I have so graciously been blessed. My hope is that other hurting people will hear the word and act on it.

Pain And Fatigue – A Patient Testimonial

Before seeing Dr. Alff I was almost completely incapacitated with pain and fatigue; unable to live a normal life in anyway.

I was diagnosed by my Reumatologist with Osteoarthritis and Fibromyalgia. Various over the counter remedies and prescriptions such as Vioxx and Celebrex, gave me no relief; only stomach problems. My condition worsened because I pushed myself physically through my pain.

I became angry and resentful because I felt I had been robbed of my life. My self-esteem also bottomed out. Because of my condition I experienced so much down time. I didn’t feel that I had a life anymore.

I never gave chiropractic care a thought because I didn’t know about the Activator method. I experienced days where my skin hurt so much I didn’t want to be touched.

I Can't Remember Feeling This Good In Years

I was a mess! I had Arthritis, Diabetes, Asthma, Fibromyalgia, Degenerative Disc Disease, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, extreme vertigo, high blood pressure and panic attacks. This is just a partial list of the medical diagnosis I’ve received in the past 11 years and I was only 52 years old. At one point, I was even told I had a brain tumor (thankfully, a “false”’ alarm).

I became a recluse, terrified to leave my “Lazy Boy” chair, even terrified to hear the phone ring for fear some Doctor calling with more bad news. The “mysterious vertigo” attacks I had were so bad I would vomit for hours. At one point, the attacks came every 48 hours. I couldn’t even drive a car anymore. I felt that life was over! I had pretty much resigned myself to this.

Then, I was having a “good” day so my husband took myself and our daughter, Kelly, to the Home and Garden Show. I met Dr. Alff there who was doing this painless-looking test for “subluxations” on this man, so I thought we’d have Kelly checked. Coincidentally, she had been complaining of headaches, muscle soreness and fatigue.

Long story short, Dr. Alff found several problems with Kelly, i.e., scoliosis, kyphosis, subluxations. So I thought what do I have to lose? I already know I am a walking disaster. So I took the Myovision test and he found that he might just be able to help me! I had tried everything else, from Psychologists to Neurologists, and all I got for that was a cabinet full of medicines. Now here was someone who said he could help me without adding to my little pharmacy (20 some meds) or getting scalpel happy.

Right from the very first treatment I began to improve, and as each treatment goes by, I am better and better. I am no longer stiff, with robotic movements; my jaw is no longer clamped so tight that I break teeth. I am standing taller, moving faster, sleeping better, and taking less medicine. Best of all, I have NO pain! I can’t remember feeling this good in years! With the pain and stiffness I feel lighter and younger. Everything is better from my Diabetes to my Asthma!

P.S.S. Dr. Alff was also able to diagnose, treat my vertigo problem that has plagued me for over 6 years. I now know that when I get vertigo, Dr. Alff has to adjust my “Dizzy Bone”. The vertigo will disappear.

My Sciatica Pain Is Gone!

Charlotte W. Gesling contacted Dr. Steve Alff, D.C, of the Ventura Spinal Care Center because she was suffering with sciatica pain down her right leg. She also was suffering with vertigo.
